My photography journey started when I received a hot pink camera with 110 film from Cost Cutters one day. Eventually I upgraded to my mother's 35mm Minolta, learning the dark room in high school and being one of the last to use the MSUM dark room before transitioning to digital. I have been photographing professionally for about 15 years; weddings, events, newspapers, magazines, families, babies, you name it and I might have photographed it.
I am a wife, mother, adoptive mother, friend and photographer. My little boy has changed my life so completely, being a mother defines part of who I am. It drives me to record memories even more-so, how quickly things change in just months. The real challenge is getting myself in the photos.
Doing foster care has been very important to our family, rewarding and difficult. We can't always share the photos we take, but we make sure to share them with our children and give them memories for the keeping... Our foster journey turned into an adoptive, family journey and we are so happy to be able to share her face and our journey.
I like being outdoors most days. Camping, gardening and walking our dog. I enjoy cooking - this surprised me too. I like creating something different and crossing my fingers hoping that it works. I've ran 3 half marathons, and only really enjoyed the first one. Crocheting is a favorite past time. I turned the past time of yoga, into more than that in 2022 by becoming a yoga teacher!
We moved a stones throw out of town and now we have 18 laying hens and a rooster, two shop kitties and our beloved dog.
